Walnut brownies



1/2 cup oil
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 Tbsp coffee



Combine oil, sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat in cocoa, flour, salt, baking powder and coffee. Stir in walnuts. Spread batter into greased pan. Bake in preheated oven at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

Kari, your mom pointed me to this recipe after eating these brownies she made last Christmas. I've made them repeatedly (to others' joy) and took some to my Czech friend's grandmother's for lunch today. Both my friend and her grandma loved them (I opted to not include the nuts or coffee this time) and had me write down the recipe of these "American" brownies. Thankfully I've made them so many times, I had the recipe memorized. Thought you should know. Thank you for helping me share the love in Czech Republic! :)
